About Us
The Comedy Lab is Toronto’s first black-owned comedy club founded in 2022. What does that mean? Well, we focus on diversity more than any other club. We pride ourselves on filling our lineups with comics from all walks of life. We were tired of seeing mostly white male lineups as the sad standard for “the most multicultural city in the world.” So we created the Comedy Lab to give a new home to minority comics.

Become the funniest person in your friend group. Learn how to make anything funny with a diagram guide of joke structure. Impress your friends with your quick wit and funny remarks. Be the life of the party. Take the first steps to being truly funny!
In the 1-day workshop we will explore the fundamentals of a joke, how they are constructed, and how to turn any idea into a solid joke.
The 6-Week course dives deep into the world of stand up comedy joke writing. We will dive into the 13 Joke Structures used by master comedians, the basic formula for a joke, and how to identify the elements of a joke.
